What would shift if you trusted your own sovereignty a little more this year?

Last night, I dreamed of researching ancient keys connected to a mysterious sea being named Hobe. At first, he appeared terrifying — a massive, white, oceanic force rising up and unsettling everyone around me. People panicked and ran in terror. Some were overtaken by him and succumbed to a mind control.
But when he reached me, something unexpected happened.
He couldn’t control me.
In the dream, he said I was hot-blooded — alive, embodied, sovereign — and because of that, I was impervious to his power. What I thought was a monster revealed itself as something ancient, neutral, even gentle. He corrected a misunderstanding I’d been carrying simply by being properly named (the rest of the world had been calling the place he dwelled Hobb). And suddenly, what felt like danger became clarity.
What struck me when I woke up was how perfectly this mirrored my Solstice meditation from the night before.
I had been reflecting on what’s coming in this next year — especially as I move through big exciting changes in both career and relationship. Two words kept surfacing for me: sovereignty and confidence.
I was also sitting with the realization that competition — especially subtle, internalized competition — no longer serves me in a healthy way. I was asking:
If I let competition go… what replaces it?
This dream answered that question.
What I’m overcoming isn’t an external enemy — it’s misunderstanding, misnaming, and the impulse to measure myself against forces that were never meant to define me. The dream reminded me that staying deeply rooted in who I am makes me unshakeable. When I’m sovereign, fear loses its grip. When I’m confident, the “monsters” change form.
That realization feels unstoppable right now. A little scary — but in the best, most adventurous way.
I interpreted this dream using the Dream Machine Interpreter, a free tool I built for people who want to understand what their dreams are actually pointing them toward — especially during times of change and expansion.
If this reflection stirred something for you, pause and ask yourself:
- What force in your life feels intimidating until you truly see it?
- Where might clarity come simply from naming things correctly?
- What would shift if you trusted your own sovereignty a little more this year?
And if your dreams have been tapping you on the shoulder lately, you’re invited to explore them using the Dream Machine. Just let me know.
