Yessss Wenatchee Night Market!
The Night Market was a pretty great place to be.
There was collaborative art, were miniature knit sweaters, poetry written on the spot, incredible burgers, live music, and many full costumes (shoutout Crazy Pants Party). There were vendors and neighbors and people running into people they knew. The whole place had that particular kind of energy that happens when a community all shows up.
And right in the middle of it, we got to play a small part.
Our little moment at the market
Sarah offered ear seeds to ease people’s soreness.
Gala and Vadim offered a sound activation, inviting people to take a few minutes to slow down and be present with sound and breath.
Carmen offered massage to anyone who needed a little help slowing down.
Dan handed out kindness statements written by community members for other community members.
And at our affirmation station, people looked at themselves in front of a mirror and said something kind.
That’s healing arts being part of community. Not something separate that happens behind a studio door. Something woven into the places where we already gather, make things, listen to music, eat street food, meet our neighbors, and spend a Saturday night.
Thank you, Wenatchee
The Night Market doesn’t happen without Josh and Suzie, the vendors, the musicians, the artists, and all the people who show up and make something like this possible.
And thank you to our members who came out to represent the Collective. You made yourselves visible, shared your work, and gave people a chance to experience a little of what this community is about.
That matters.
This is why we’re building the Collective. Not simply to create another place to find practitioners online, but to create more opportunities for people to actually encounter one another.
To experience the work.
To discover what’s already happening here.
And to make it easier for all of us to find each other.
We’re looking forward to doing more of this: more WellNests, more gatherings, more ways for our members to show up in the community and for the community to experience what they have to offer.
If you’re new here, welcome. We’re glad you’re here. 🙂
